Speakers: Geraldine Duthe and Stéphane Helleringer

Geraldine Duthe and Stéphane Helleringer

Geraldine Duthe, Chargée de Recherche at INED, and a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University. Geraldine works on mortality and health in low- and medium-income countries, especially in Western Africa and the Caucasus. A part of her research is thus devoted to assessing the measurement of global and cause-specific mortality, using different sources according to their availability at the local/national level. She has also developed research on mental health in different contexts.

Stéphane Helleringer, Assistant Professor of Population and Family Health, Columbia University. Stéphane is a social demographer with interests in the factors affecting the transmission of HIV, as well as in demographic surveillance systems and methods of mortality estimation.
