Bio
Matthew Capps is a Kolb Junior Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in anthropology.
Matthew is an anthropological archaeologist working at the intersection of archaeology, archives, and landscape interpretation and representation to examine the ways that long-term social, political, and ecological processes have shaped archaeological practice and collection formation, which has contributed to understandings of archaeology in the Americas today. He is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Museum Teaching and Learning. Matthew is an active member of the Anthropology Department's North American Archaeology Lab where he supports undergraduate research and he currently conducts archaeological fieldwork in the Natchez Bluffs of southwest Mississippi.
