Bio

I am an MD-PhD student at the Department of Anthropology and the School of Medicine. My primary research interest centers on the power and potential of spatial and visual design on the practice of medicine and human health, in the context of investigating how care, biosecurity, and material containment are conceived of and practiced in the United States. Issues of urban history, infrastructural development, and the cultural meaning of health and body are a few topics that I examine, and I am especially keen on exploring interdisciplinary and collaborative methods of ethnographic engagement and textual/visual narrative construction.
