Indivar is a joint Ph.D. Candidate in Anthropology and South Asia Studies. His ongoing dissertation project examines the intersecting politics of citizenship and property for marginalized groups based on ethnographic fieldwork in Hyderabad, India among residents and activists in slum settlements, government offices and development NGOs. His inter-disciplinary project contributes to understanding the social life of law, processes of subalternization, urban bureaucracy and the regulation of informal economies. Prior to the PhD, as a researcher at Hyderabad Urban Lab, Indivar conducted ethnographic research on sanitation infrastructure, public housing schemes and low-cost private schools.
