Abhi’s research interests are situated at the conjuncture of Political Ecology, Environmental History, and Feminist STS.  He is interested in understanding how different societies of past and present associate with land, water, and resources in South India.  

Before joining the department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania he was affiliated as a Research Assistant at IIM Ahmedabad, Max Weber Center of University of Erfurt (MIWA project), and the French Institute of Pondicherry (MANDU project).
